Happy New Year! Here’s hoping for a great 2023. As part of my own New Year’s Resolution, I’m going to be starting a blog here. The idea is to have a space where I can share my thoughts on legal news and developments in Minnesota as they happen. My hope is that this will be a less polished, more stream of consciousness way to connect with people and share my thoughts on the latest in Minnesota criminal law. I never expected to be called to work in criminal defense. For many years I found work as a prosecutor fulfilling. But over time that changed. Rather than making a difference, I was a cog in the machine. Cases stopped feeling like people and became names on paper.
